Gymnastics classes for children aged 4 and up

Lancing, West Sussex · After school and Saturdays · Since 1988

Cartwheels, handstands, swinging on the rings, and a lot of very proud faces. Our school-age classes give children a full hour on real gymnastics equipment every week, in small groups led by British Gymnastics qualified coaches.

No experience needed, and spaces open up all the time. Just ask!

What happens in a class

Every class starts with a proper warm up. Children then work in small groups around a three-week rota, spending time on floor, vault, bars, beam and trampette, two pieces of equipment each week, so every session feels fresh. Coaches are helped by young leaders from our Leadership Academy.

As they progress, gymnasts work through the Wickers Club Award Scheme, designed by our own coaches, so you and your child can see how far they've come.

Class times

Monday to Friday: 4.00pm, 5.10pm and 6.20pm

Saturday: 9.00am, 10.10am, 11.20am and 12.30pm

Every class lasts one hour.

Want to start soon? Just ask.

Our classes are popular, but spaces open up all the time as gymnasts move up groups or change days, and some times have room right now. Tell us your child's age and the days that suit you, and we'll let you know what's free. If your first choice is full, we'll save your place in the queue and get in touch the moment it opens.

School-age class times at Wickers Gymnastics Club: Monday to Friday at 4.00pm, 5.10pm and 6.20pm, Saturday at 9.00am, 10.10am, 11.20am and 12.30pm. All classes last one hour.

Good to know

What age can my child start?

From 4 years old. We also run 11yrs+ sessions for older children, so just ask the team which group suits your child best.

Does my child need any experience?

None at all. Groups are small, so coaches can meet each child where they are.

What should they wear?

Something comfortable they can stretch in, with hair tied back and no jewellery.

Is there anything to sign up for?

All gymnasts need British Gymnastics membership by their second week, which covers their insurance. It only takes a few minutes online.

Where do I park?

There are a few easy options close by. The parking guide just below shows where to go, and the bays to avoid.

Coming from nearby?

Families travel to us from all over Adur and Worthing, including Lancing, Sompting, Shoreham, Worthing, Southwick, Steyning and Brighton.
